Vinified in concrete tanks and partially destemmed, the 2023 Châteauneuf du Pape Cuvée Tradition opens with aromas of spices, smoke and dark wild berries. Medium- to full-bodied, enveloping and concentrated, it is ample and well-balanced, built around a dense, gently grippy core of fruit and concluding with a penetrating, persistent finish. Matured for 12 months in a mix of foudres, large barrels and concrete tanks, this blend of 75% Grenache Noir, 11% Syrah, 11% Mourvèdre and small proportions of Cinsault, Vaccarèse and Counoise (1% each) is more introverted at this stage than its 2022 counterpart." - Yohan Castaing, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
