Laphroaig is a single malt Scotch whisky distillery located on the southern shore of Islay, Scotland, producing one of the most heavily peated whiskies in the category. The distillery malts a portion of its own barley over peat fires, contributing the medicinal, smoky character that defines every expression. The Laphroaig 10 Year serves as the foundation, while the 10 Year Cask Strength releases - Batches 12, 13, and 14 - deliver the same mash undiluted at varying proof points. The 10 Year Sherry Oak Finish and Cairdeas Pedro Ximenez Cask Strength layer Spanish cask influence over that peated core. The 16 Year Old offers additional maturation complexity, and the Ian Hunter Story Book 3 Source Protector 33 Year Old represents the distillery's most extended aging program currently available.
