Located in Healdsburg, CA, Lost Republic Distillery was started by two friends from Sonoma County. Perched at the top of the Healdsburg Vinyards, they use locally sourced grains to create their artisanal, small-batch whiskey. Lost Republic sources their base from MGP distillery out of Indiana, and different ages this spirit at a warehouse in Healdsburg, California (aka Napa).  The mash on this whiskey is comprised of 75% corn, 21% rye and 4% barley” and spent 3 years and 2 months in new American oak barrels with #2 char.

A glass of rye whiskey will offer the nose cherries, tobacco and lemon zest. A sip will reveal a sweet and spicy balance of flavors including raspberries, toffee, cloves and ginger. Expect a strong finish that will leave vanilla on your palette for a while. Sip straight, or mix an intriguing cocktail with this complex combination of flavors.

Depending on the bottle and destination, we use a combination of insulated foam box inserts, custom-fit air column bags, and heavy-weight cardboard shippers to prevent damage. For wine, we recommend storing bottles on their side in a dark, vibration-free environment with good humidity, ideally between 55-60°F. Spirits like whiskey should be stored upright in a cool, dark place (60-70°F) away from direct sunlight to preserve their quality.
