Friends and winegrowers, Yves Cuilleron, Pierre Gaillard and François Villard, three passionate and renowned winegrowers from the right bank of the Rhône, embarked on a great adventure in 1996: the rebirth of the ancient vineyard of Seyssuel. Crossing the Rhône, they replanted on the outskirts of the château at the Archbishops a few hectares of Syrah and Viognier to produce their first vintage in 1998. A childhood dream come true and this crazy adventure still continues… They then decided to buy vines throughout the Rhone Valley. Since then, they have continued to develop the Vins de Vienne estate, which now covers 30 hectares. 12 hectares on the hillsides of Seyssuel, in the far north of the Rhone Valley, where Syrah and Viognier are planted, giving rise to 3 wines in IGP des Collines Rhodaniennes: Sotanum, Héluicum and Taburnum. The other 18 hectares are spread over the rest of the Northern Rhone Valley and the appellations: Côte Rôtie, Condrieu, Saint-Joseph, Crozes-Hermitage, Saint-Péray and Brézème. The estate also works with partner and historical winegrowers in purchasing grapes in order to produce and offer the Hermitage and Cornas appellations. The wines are vinified at the estate in Chavanay in the 42.
