California Merlots tend to more fruit-forward, with lots of raspberry and blackberry cut with strong mocha and chocolate notes. Each vintage produceD multiple stylistic Pinot Noirs from the McIntyre Estate Vineyard in the Santa Lucia Highlands AVA. Estate Pinot Noir is deep, concentrated and age-worthy. The Block series and Old Vine Pinot boast fruity but bold, lush juice. The Winemaker Series labels connect a guest winemaker who brings their own style and experience, just as a great chef or a musician, to the process of producing a life enhancing experience best shared with others. McIntyre Estate Vineyard lies in the “sweet spot” of Monterey County’s Santa Lucia Highlands AVA, a 12-mile stretch of northeast-facing benchland renowned for producing wines with great character and complexity. Originally planted in 1973, this 80-acre site boasts some of the Highlands’ oldest Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vines. Since purchasing the property in 1987, we have systematically upgraded the vineyard to luxury-class standards. Our estate was among the first properties in the Santa Lucia Highlands to be SIP Certified (Sustainability In Practice).

Depending on the bottle and destination, we use a combination of insulated foam box inserts, custom-fit air column bags, and heavy-weight cardboard shippers to prevent damage. For wine, we recommend storing bottles on their side in a dark, vibration-free environment with good humidity, ideally between 55-60°F. Spirits like whiskey should be stored upright in a cool, dark place (60-70°F) away from direct sunlight to preserve their quality.
