“This zesty red layers abundant milled black and white pepper with flavors of ripe black raspberry and cherry fruit. Firmed by well-meshed, chalky tannins, this offers aromatic accents of bay leaf and licorice. Monastrell, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. Drink now through 2025. 5,000 cases made, 5,000 cases imported.”
Highlights
Juan Gil Red Blend Jumilla 2020
Made from estate vines averaging 50 years old. Monastrell’s bold fruit is perfectly in balance with the earthy notes of Cabernet and Syrah, producing a wine that shows complexity and balance. Each varietal is fermented in stainless steel and aged for 12 months in French oak barrels separately before blending. Vibrant ripe wild cherry and summer berries, rich in flavor and texture with fresh acidity and finessed tannin structure. Flavors of chocolate and spices pair nicely with ripe red and black fruit. Blend 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Monastrell, 10% Syrah.

The 2020 Juan Gil Red Blend was produced with 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Monastrell and 10% Syrah fermented and matured separately for 12 months. It's ripe at 15% alcohol, and the oak is quite integrated and in the background. The palate is medium to full-bodied with fine tannins.
