These prestigious vintages are Donatien Bahuaud's intimate and secret selection. Revealed in the cellar, these bottles benefit from long and meticulous aging processes that enhance our finest Loire appellations. Wines made and aged from a single grape variety, providing a perfect introduction to the signature style of the House wines. Fresh, fruity varietal wines from the Loire Valley, easy to pair with a wide range of dishes.

Born in 1906 in the Nantes region, into a family of clog makers, coopers, and winegrowers, Donatien Bahuaud roamed the vineyards from his earliest youth. Here, between land and sea, he loved watching the barges laden with barrels, traveling up the Loire River, and he would become a winemaker. In 1929, at the age of 23, he founded Maison Donatien Bahuaud and also began traveling the vineyards with his wines in barrels, transported in a cart.

Day after day, he meticulously tended the vines and observed the region's soils, convinced that it was the terroir that allowed him to craft wines with subtle and refined flavors. He thus contributed to the recognition of Muscadet, culminating in the creation of the AOC (Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée) in 1936.

In 1957, he purchased Château de Cassemichère, the birthplace of Muscadet since 1740, in La Chapelle-Heulin. It was at the heart of this vineyard that Donatien revolutionized the region with his audacity, dynamism, and innate business acumen. He then spent more time on the road, crisscrossing the vineyards in search of the finest appellations of the Loire Valley. This work as a "wine scout" was quickly combined with the creation of daring winemaking techniques in the cellar, employing various methods. Over time, Donatien Bahuaud became a recognized master in the art of winemaking.
