Crafted by the Carthusian monks in 1998, Chartreuse Gentiane draws upon centuries of monastic distilling tradition and botanical expertise. Built upon a beetroot-based spirit, this expression features wild gentian root harvested directly from the French Alps, establishing a firm, aromatic structural backbone balanced by a secret blend of regional herbs and spices.

Tasting Notes

  • Nose: Earthy alpine characteristics with a bright citrus lift, complemented by subtle undertones of dried mountain florals and warming spice.

  • Palate: An assertive, defining gentian bitterness that evolves into complex layers of candied citrus peel, deep herbal complexity, and delicate floral notes.

  • Finish: Lively, refreshing, and sustained by a natural sweetness that softens the bitter profile.

For wine, we recommend storing bottles on their side in a dark, vibration-free environment with good humidity, ideally between 55-60°F. Spirits like whiskey should be stored upright in a cool, dark place (60-70°F) away from direct sunlight to preserve their quality.
