Highlights

Produced from the oldest vines at Roda since 1995 under Agustín Santolaya after studies identified higher tannin polymerization, this cuvée is vinified separately to showcase tannin maturity that functions as a substitute for extended aging. Aromatics and palate deliver vinous sensations, volume and complexity with refined elegance and aromatic richness that are evident even when the wine is young.

One of the greatest last generation Rioja reds, Cirsion was born in 1995, when in Roda wineries they perceived a very different character in some of the oldest vines in the vineyard: more vinous sensations, volume, complexity ... After years of tests and studies , the team led by Agustín Santolaya concluded that the difference lies in the level of polymerization of tannins in the grape itself, which plays a substitute role for aging. That is why the winery decided to produce the fruit of these strains separately, giving rise to this wine. Contrary to what happens with other "superriojans", which abound in concentration and power, Cirsion seeks excellence in elegance and complexity, and in a fineness and aromatic richness that is revealed even when the wine is young.
