The Boatyard Distillery is situated on the banks of Lough Erne, County Fermanagh, North West Ireland. Boatyard is Fermanagh’s first legal distillery since 1890. Our story began with a dream in 2013 when our founder, Joe McGirr, imagined returning home to his native Enniskillen. Joe grew up on a nearby dairy farm, and the McGirr family are always a part of what Boatyard does. The distillery takes its name from the disused Boatyard that it’s built on. It makes us unique as a distillery, as visitors can arrive just as easily by boat as they can by car.

Organically produced wheat spirit is macerated for 18 hours with 8 different botanicals, including Sweet Gale which has been harvested from the family farm. They use lemon peel which we take from unwaxed lemons on the day that they are to be used for ultimate freshness.

Yes, in most cases, the photograph on the product page is of the specific bottle for sale. If we have multiple quantities of the same item, the photo represents the general condition of all bottles under that SKU. Any significant condition issues, such as low ullage or bin-stained labels, will be clearly noted in the product description. We are happy to provide additional high-resolution images upon request-please contact us.

We use premium, industry-standard materials to protect every shipment. Depending on the bottle and destination, we use a combination of insulated foam box inserts, custom-fit air column bags, and heavy-weight cardboard shippers to prevent damage. For added peace of mind, we offer shipping protection against loss or damage at checkout through OrderProtection.com.

For wine, we recommend storing bottles on their side in a dark, vibration-free environment with good humidity, ideally between 55-60°F. Spirits like whiskey should be stored upright in a cool, dark place (60-70°F) away from direct sunlight to preserve their quality.

  • Ground Shipping: Orders are typically processed within 2 business days and take 2-6 business days in transit, depending on your distance from Los Angeles.
  • Expedited Shipping (2-Day/Next Day Air): Orders placed before 12:00 PM Pacific Time are processed the same day.
  • Local Delivery: We offer same-day local delivery for eligible addresses, with the option available at checkout.

Yes. During periods of extreme heat, we can include optional ice packs in our insulated shippers and select an overnight shipping service & a Weather Waiver. Otherwise, it would be unsafe to ship in those conditions. We can also hold your shipment at no charge for up to one year upon request. We flag temps above 72 °F or below 32 °F as extreme.
