Founded by James Fleming in 1879, Aberlour stands in the Speyside village that shares its name. A’Bunadh—Gaelic for “the original”—is released in individually numbered batches; Batch 079 is bottled at cask strength and reflects the distillery’s established use of oloroso sherry casks for this expression.

The A'bunadh whiskys from Aberlour are classics at this point, and this batch 79 keeps the spirit alive,  Matured entirely in Oloroso butts, it clocks in at 121 proof.  It's rich, smooth and deeply satisfying for the hard core Highlands fan.  

Matured in First Fill Spanish Oloroso Sherry Butts. Produced in batches, Non chill filtered, Cask strength. As close as you can get from tasting a whisky directly from the cask at the distillery.

Aromas of mixed spices, praline and spiced orange harmonising with rich, deep notes of Oloroso Sherry.

Orange, black cherries, dried fruit and ginger spiked with dark bitter chocolate and enriched with Sherry and Oak. Full bodied and creamy. Robust and intense with bitter-sweet notes of exotic spices, dark chocolate and oak.

Depending on the bottle and destination, we use a combination of insulated foam box inserts, custom-fit air column bags, and heavy-weight cardboard shippers to prevent damage. For wine, we recommend storing bottles on their side in a dark, vibration-free environment with good humidity, ideally between 55-60°F. Spirits like whiskey should be stored upright in a cool, dark place (60-70°F) away from direct sunlight to preserve their quality.

Yes. During periods of extreme heat, we can include optional ice packs in our insulated shippers and select an overnight shipping service & a Weather Waiver. Otherwise, it would be unsafe to ship in those conditions. We can also hold your shipment at no charge for up to one year upon request. We flag temps above 72 °F or below 32 °F as extreme.
