Puntiagudo Espadin from Onofre Ortiz was produced in the community of Bramaderos, Miahuatlan, Oaxaca. This was produced using maguey Espadin (Agave angustifolia). The agaves were cooked in an underground pit oven and distilled in a 350 liter alambique still.
The name Puntiagudo refers to the shape of the quiote stalk of wild agaves, and also to the production of distillates with high alcoholic content (puntas). The boar used as a logo summons those who desire and seek something extraordinary in the agave distillates market.
Aromas include roasted agave, tropical fruit, lemon, eucalyptus, and subtle medicinal or lactic notes. Palate flavors feature sweet agave, citrus, candy-like fruit, minerals, pepper, and herbs, often with a bitter or chalky finish. The spirit is generally viewed as an approachable, high-quality, and enjoyable sipper that highlights the expressive potential and terroir variations of this agave variety.
