Wine Spectator
“This bright Champagne is defined by firm acidity, which is wrapped in the creamy mousse and well-knit flavors of baked apricot, marzipan, preserved lemon and oyster shell. The finish is open-knit and fresh, with hints of grated ginger and chamomile. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Drink now through 2025. 420 cases made, 20 cases imported.”
Highlights
Pommery Cuvee Louise Brut Nature Champagne 2006
A creamy and refined 2004 with a very reserved and tight palate of ultra-fine tannins that lend the wine beautiful creaminess and finesse. Subtly floral, offering lightly cooked apples and lemons. Flavorful, yet always hiding behind the fine bubbles.
Pommery is a Champagne house located in Reims and claims to be the inventor of the Brut style of Champagne so popular today. It's early history is synonymous with Jeanne-Alexandrine Louise Pommery (commonly refered to as Louise Pommery), who guided the house through its early beginnings to substantial growth in the mid 19th Century.
