Maker's Gold Wax 1990's 101 Proof 750ml

A popular small batch bourbon, produced at the Maker's Mark distillery in Loretto, Kentucky. Maker's Mark is a wheated bourbon, first introduced in 1953 by "Bill" Samuels Snr, produced with the assistance on none other than a certain Julian 'Pappy' Van Winkle.

Great elegance and charm on the nose. The palate is an explosion of delicate flavors, nice and delightful mouthfeel. Quite delicate and smooth texture on the long finish.

The limestone shelf where the distillery is located is key to crafting the unique taste of Maker's Mark – the only distillery with its own water source and watershed. Kentucky limestone filters out iron from water, which is unpleasant in bourbon. The pure calcium- and magnesium-rich water surrounding the distillery makes better drinking water and a better sour mash in which yeast can flourish.

For wine, we recommend storing bottles on their side in a dark, vibration-free environment with good humidity, ideally between 55-60°F. Spirits like whiskey should be stored upright in a cool, dark place (60-70°F) away from direct sunlight to preserve their quality.
