Distillery Notes:

As with all our single malts, this peated Ledaig is non-chill filtered and natural colour.  Bottled at 46.3% and produced using peated (30-40ppm) concerto barley.

Tasting Notes

Colour 

Bright lemony gold.

Nose

Sweet briny smokiness with distinct island character and playful notes that hint at mild antiseptic, creosote, wax polish, mint chocolate and floral seaside aromas. Soft peat, gentle smoke.

Palate

Tantalisingly sweet, medicinal flavours infused with enticing sparks of spicy pepper and dried fruit with rich peaty smoke and a velvety vanilla and malty creaminess.

Finish

A wondrous union of sublimely spicy white pepper, the vibrant sweetness of liquorice and a kick of cloves with a exquisite lingering saltiness.

2019 Double Gold Medalist at SFWSC. For 10 years, oak wood casks rest in ancient vaults. Within them, the aromatic Lochan waters commune with peated malted barley to create a deep golden treasure that is floral and smoky. Ledaig is one of their exquisite peated single malts.

Tasting Notes

Medium-bodied and quite rich. There are notes of spice and smoke gathering above the charred oak. The peat is quiet and dry with a touch of black pepper and earth.

Quite light and well-balanced. There is a very soft peat with a gentle smoke. Notes of barley and malt extract, with walnut and pine oil and a hint of iodine, dried fruit and nuts.

Medium-length and slightly smoky with spice.

For wine, we recommend storing bottles on their side in a dark, vibration-free environment with good humidity, ideally between 55-60°F. Spirits like whiskey should be stored upright in a cool, dark place (60-70°F) away from direct sunlight to preserve their quality.
