Highlights

A particularly massive D'Arenberg red defined by raspy tannins and a pronounced dusty oak/tobacco presence. Aromatics of sour cherry, potpourri and cigar box carry a prominent herbal, woodsy note; the palate is dominated by powerful, raspy tannins as tobacco and herb notes wrestle the fruit almost to oblivion, with perceptible alcohol heat on the finish.

D'Arenberg reds are rarely shy wines, but this is a particularly massive wine. The aromatics are reminiscent of sour cherry, potpourri and cigar box with a prominent herbal, woodsy note. The palate is dominated by raspy, powerful tannins and a dusty oak character. The tobacco and herb notes are even stronger here, wrestling the fruit almost to oblivion. There's some heat from the alcohol too.
