12% ABV; hand-picked Pinot Grigio from Bridgehampton and Mudd West Vineyard fermented 15 days on skins with wild yeast and aged eight months in older French and Slovenian oak. Aromas and flavors of honey, brown spices, dried apricots, pear skin, tropical citrus, baked apples, coriander, caramel and peaches; balanced acidity, medium-plus body and long, persistent finish.

Ramato is a special skin-fermented white wine, or what many are now calling "orange" wines. Ramato refers to the old Friulian-style of fermenting Pinot Grigio on its skins, thus creating a coppery-colored wine. All the Pinot Grigio fruit (from both our home farm in Bridgehampton and the Mudd West Vineyard on the North Fork) for our Ramato was hand-picked, handled minimally, fermented on its skins (with wild /ambient yeast) in small bins (for fifteen days) and raised in older French and Slovenian oak for eight months. 

There are aromas and flavors of honey, brown spices, dried apricots, pear skin, tropical citrus, baked apples, coriander, caramel and peaches. The wine has balanced acidity, only 12% alcohol, medium-plus body and great persistence of flavor on the finish. This dry, exotic, textured and aromatic wine falls somewhere between a white and a red but does not fit neatly into the pink category.

We use premium, industry-standard materials to protect every shipment. Depending on the bottle and destination, we use a combination of insulated foam box inserts, custom-fit air column bags, and heavy-weight cardboard shippers to prevent damage. For added peace of mind, we offer shipping protection against loss or damage at checkout through OrderProtection.com.

For wine, we recommend storing bottles on their side in a dark, vibration-free environment with good humidity, ideally between 55-60°F. Spirits like whiskey should be stored upright in a cool, dark place (60-70°F) away from direct sunlight to preserve their quality.

Yes. During periods of extreme heat, we can include optional ice packs in our insulated shippers and select an overnight shipping service & a Weather Waiver. Otherwise, it would be unsafe to ship in those conditions. We can also hold your shipment at no charge for up to one year upon request. We flag temps above 72 °F or below 32 °F as extreme.
