The Cazcanes Reposado is aged to taste not to time. Using recharred used American oak, this additive free reposado is a blend of barrels from just a few months old to almost a year at their distillery in Amatitan.
Cooked agave, honey, melon, cantaloupe, yeast/dough, cinnamon, lactic, citrus, grapefruit, lemon, flowers, rose petals, barrel spice, allspice, oak, vanilla, banana, molasses, butter, white pepper, and brine/salinity. The aroma really develops the longer this rests in the glass. Palate: Cooked and raw agave, vanilla, oak, butter, barrel spice, cinnamon, baking spice, cloves, smoke, molasses, butter, honey, lactic, yeast/dough, brine/salinity, pine tree, white pepper, vegetal, asparagus, wet grass, citrus, orange, and coriander, starts off like tequila, ends like a Belgian wheat beer. Finish: Medium length with oak, cinnamon, pine tree, and cardamom. Thinner mouthfeel, but minimal warmth Overall: This is the standout from the Cazcanes line.

Lemon curd and vanilla entice the nose. The rounded palate matches the sweetness of the aromas, suggesting lemon cream pie, vanilla cream and vanilla wafers, though it braces up into the finish, drying slightly with white pepper and cinnamon sparks.
