Highlights
Castiglion Del Bosco Chardonnay 2023
When the youngest son of the late shoe designer Salvatore Ferragamo is not busy with fine leather goods, he devotes himself to producing one of Italy's most precious red wines. In 2003, Massimo Ferragamo took over the historic Castiglion del Bosco estate, which together with 25 other wineries made Tuscan wine history when they founded the Brunello di Montalcino consortium in 1967
Today, the estate comprises 62 hectares of vineyards planted exclusively with Sangiovese, which grow south of Montalcino in the heart of the stunning UNESCO World Heritage landscape of the Val d'Orcia. Surrounding the estate are the ruins of an early Romanesque church and a castle dating back to the 12th century, which have been restored by the Ferragamo family with great attention to detail and true to tradition.
In the glass the wine is straw yellow with greenish highlights, inviting a fresh, straight sip. Characterized by a delicate and fruity aroma, with fresh floral notes of small white flowers and vibrant citrus scents. On the palate, it stands out for its bright acidity and vertical progression, with a well-balanced persistence.
