Bruxo No. 2 is not a typical Pechuga.  Unlike almost every other Mezcal going by this name, Bruxo No. 2 contains no meat.  The signature chicken breast of other Pechugas is not present in this Mezcal.  That said, this is still a wonderful Mezcal that just happens to have slightly confusing name.  Instead of the chicken breast traditionally used in other Pechugas, this Mezcal is referring to the breast of the Maguey. After distilling their classic Espadin, the Pechuga de Maguey is steeped for several days with freshly roasted agave that are split down the middle to expose the heart (or breast) of the plant. This Mezcal has rich sweet flavors of roasted agave with a subtle smokiness. The color is slightly off clear due to the infusion of agave “breast.”

Bruxo was created by a group of friends who love and honor the country of Mexico. They discovered the magic of mezcal, but above all, its people. Brujo is synonymous with shaman, wise, illuminated; and the “X ” in Bruxo then refers to the pronunciation of their origin lands, Oaxaca and México. Each bottle of Bruxo may vary slightly from lot to lot, so make sure to check your bottle for details.

The spirit presents aromas of agave, vanilla, and citrus, with some noting smoke and fruit. Flavors include vanilla, caramel, and sweet pepper, alongside agave and citrus notes. The overall impression is positive, highlighting smoothness and complexity, with some finding it well-balanced and enjoyable.

For wine, we recommend storing bottles on their side in a dark, vibration-free environment with good humidity, ideally between 55-60°F. Spirits like whiskey should be stored upright in a cool, dark place (60-70°F) away from direct sunlight to preserve their quality.

Yes. During periods of extreme heat, we can include optional ice packs in our insulated shippers and select an overnight shipping service & a Weather Waiver. Otherwise, it would be unsafe to ship in those conditions. We can also hold your shipment at no charge for up to one year upon request. We flag temps above 72 °F or below 32 °F as extreme.
