Charbay Distillery is a family-run operation based in the Napa Valley hills of California, founded by Marko Karakasevic, a 13th-generation distiller from Yugoslavia. Charbay produces spirits across a wide range of categories, distilling from scratch using whole ingredients rather than neutral base spirits. Their Hop Flavored Whiskey expressions, including Release II and Release III, are distilled directly from Bear Republic Racer 5 IPA, a method that carries the beer's hop character through the still and into extended aging. The R5 Whiskey and Doubled and Twisted Lot 2 represent their grain whiskey program, while the Double Distilled Double Aged Rum, Blood Orange Vodka, Meyer Lemon Vodka, and Nostalgie Black Walnut Liqueur illustrate the breadth of Charbay whiskey and spirits production under one roof.
