Clos Cibonne Cotes de Provence Tibouren Cuvee Speciale des Vignettes Rose 2023

The Clos Cibonne draws its name from Jean-Baptiste de Cibon, captain of Louis XVI's Royal navy and first owner of the vineyard. After his death in 1797, the property was sold to the Roux family's ancestors. In the 1930s, André Roux planted the vineyard to the Tibouren grape varietal. Since then, both children and grandchildren have carried on the tradition.

Aromas of tonka beans, spices, vanilla, grapefruit, red berries, iodine and spring flowers preface the 2022 Cotes de Provence Rose Cuvee Speciale des Vignettes from Clos Cibonne, a rosé from Provence crafted with a dominant proportion of Tibouren. Medium to full-bodied, round and sappy, it’s well structured with a phenolic, gastronomic bitterness, a fleshy core of fruit and a long, penetrating, iodine-tinged finish.

Vibrant copper-hued and truly distinctive, this burly rosé leads with expressive waves of singed orange peel, red currant and guava. Very fleshy and also pure, with hints of salt, green herbs and citrus zest adding lift to the complex, weighty palate. Warm hay notes and a bitter tug of tannins mark the finish. Tibouren and Grenache.

For wine, we recommend storing bottles on their side in a dark, vibration-free environment with good humidity, ideally between 55-60°F. Spirits like whiskey should be stored upright in a cool, dark place (60-70°F) away from direct sunlight to preserve their quality.
