This rare release is named in honor of Donald Johnston, a key figure in Laphroaig's history, who helped shape the distillery into the icon it is today. With over three decades of aging, this whisky is a perfect example of the distillery's ability to create complex and memorable expressions that showcase the unmistakable smoky, peaty character Laphroaig is known for.

The 33-year maturation in oak casks has allowed the whisky to develop a depth and richness that blends beautifully with Laphroaig's signature bold flavors, offering a whisky that is both powerful and refined.

Immediately captivating with deep, smoky peat and maritime brine, followed by rich, sweet notes of dried fruit, honey, and dark chocolate. A touch of medicinal herbs adds to its complexity.  The texture is smooth and velvety, with a well-balanced intensity of flavors. Powerful peat smoke is complemented by layers of oak spice, toasted almonds, and vanilla, with a slight hint of tobacco and leather.
