Bruichladdich

View Full Description [+ Read More]

Bruichladdich is an Islay single malt Scotch whisky distillery and gin producer operating from a Victorian-era distillery on the western shore of Loch Indaal, revived in 2001 after years of closure. The distillery pursues a terroir-driven philosophy across its whisky range, sourcing Scottish barley for The Classic Laddie, certified organic grain for the 2011 vintage expression, and the rare heritage Bere Barley variety for its 2010 release. Port Charlotte MRC:01 2010 represents the distillery's heavily peated output, while Octomore Edition 15.1 pushes further as one of the most intensely peated single malts produced anywhere. The Botanist Islay Dry Gin and Botanist Islay Cask Rested Gin extend the operation into spirits, both distilled on-site. The Classic Laddie serves as the accessible foundation, with Octomore Edition 15.1 at the opposite extreme.
