Part of the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection & named after the New Orleans bartender who first used rye whiskey in the Sazerac Cocktail, Thomas H Handy Sazerac Rye is uncut and unfiltered. Bottled directly from the barrel, just as it was over a century ago. Full of rich flavors, this authentic American rye whiskey is a symbol of the timeless history of New Orleans and the legacy of Thomas H. Handy.

"Our distilling team was delighted to hear that last year’s release was awarded a Master Medal by judges at the 2023 American Whiskey Masters. We hope you enjoy the unique whiskey contained in these bottles. Thomas H. Handy Sazerac Straight Rye Whiskey was first launched in response to a consumer request for more well-aged and barrel strength whiskey. This year’s offering is comprised of barrels aged for over 6 years. We filled these barrels at 125 proof back in 2017 and after years of aging the whiskey is now, remarkably, 124.9 proof. The crystal-clear glass bottle chosen for Thomas H. Handy Sazerac is designed to showcase the whiskey’s dark and rich color. The back label provides a full product story and description. Every case has been hand-bottled and labeled to ensure the highest quality finish."

Depending on the bottle and destination, we use a combination of insulated foam box inserts, custom-fit air column bags, and heavy-weight cardboard shippers to prevent damage. For added peace of mind, we offer shipping protection against loss or damage at checkout through OrderProtection.com.

For wine, we recommend storing bottles on their side in a dark, vibration-free environment with good humidity, ideally between 55-60°F. Spirits like whiskey should be stored upright in a cool, dark place (60-70°F) away from direct sunlight to preserve their quality.

Yes. During periods of extreme heat, we include complimentary ice packs in our insulated shippers. However, to fully protect your investment, we strongly recommend selecting an overnight shipping service in these conditions. We can also hold your shipment at no charge for up to one year upon request.
