Vik Milla Cala Red Blend Cachapoal Valley 2021
With an irresistible character, expressing fruit and structure, Milla Cala is harmonious blend with a persistent elegance which maintains a flawless equilibrium between aroma and taste. This assemblage is a tribute to its origin: the meeting between the new and old world. "Milla" means gold in Mapudungun, while "Cala" is the Spanish translation of Vik. It has an irresistible character, expressive notes of fruit and a persistent elegance that maintains a perfect balance between aroma and taste.
Viña Vik is a Chilean wine producer, located in the Cachapoal Valley. The company was founded in 2004, by Norwegian entrepreneurs Carrie Vik and Alex Vik.
The Vina Vik wine portfolio is a small collection of four Bordeaux-style red wines. The portfolio is led by the Vik and Milla Cala duo, both a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Carménère with small additions of Merlot. Both will happily cellar for 15 to 20 years.
Not as famours as its Maipo and Colchagua counterparts, the Cachapoal Valley nontheless holds all the promise of its neighbors' current popularity.
Cachapoal Valley is a central wine zone in Chile that forms the northern half of the Rapel Valley region. Located between the Maipo and Colchagua valleys to the north and south, Cachapoal is somewhat shaded from the limelight. However, several prestigious Rapel Valley wines are blends of fruit from both Colchagua and Cachapoal vineyards, and some promising wineries are establishing themselves in this area.
The most noteworthy wines from the region are made from Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenère. The supporting cast includes Merlot, Syrah and Chardonnay.
