Mount Veeder is an AVA located in the southwest hills of California's most famous wine region, Napa Valley. The AVA has won worldwide acclaim for its wine from the Cabernet Sauvignon grape variety.
Carneros and Napa town lie just to the southeast of the AVA, and Oak Knoll District and Yountville are on Mount Veeder's western border. The eponymous Mount Veeder peak is 2,700 feet (825 meters) high, and marks the boundary between Napa and Sonoma counties. The appellation's highest vineyards lie on a southwest-facing slope just below the summit, and stretch up to 2,550 feet (770 meters) above sea level.
