Distilled in winter 1983 and bottled in autumn 2008, this 25 year old Port Ellen comes from a sherry butt and represents one of the increasingly scarce independent bottlings from the distillery’s final production year. Bottled at 46% ABV, non-chill filtered, and without artificial coloring, this release brings together mature Islay smoke, sherry cask depth, oak, coastal salinity, and the austere old-school character that made Port Ellen a cult name. For wine, we recommend storing bottles on their side in a dark, vibration-free environment with good humidity, ideally between 55-60°F. Spirits like whiskey should be stored upright in a cool, dark place (60-70°F) away from direct sunlight to preserve their quality.
