Nose: Begins with notes of maple syrup, chewy toffee, peanut brittle, toasted vanilla, then rounded out with the smell of fresh cut wood.
Palate: Dry and quick across the tongue with notes of cherry candy moving into baking spices and cocoa powder. Sort of like a cherry turnover with a bite of dark chocolate and a dusting of baking spices.
Finish: It lingers on the back of the tongue with the aforementioned spice and cocoa giving way to earthy, semi-sweet charred oak. Overall, a damn good pour.
