Double Rye! is a blend of two different rye whiskeys. It is also crafted to be twice as spicy (think cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves) than your average rye whiskey.

The younger rye (sourced by High West) is produced on a column still and tastes of cinnamon, clove, anise, eucalyptus buttons, and evergreen “gin-like” flavors. The older rye (distilled by High West) made using a pot still adds a richer, bolder character and just enough caramel sweetness and woody vanilla richness to calm the “bite” of the younger rye. The resulting combination is bold, balanced, complex and perfect for mixing. We recommend trying a Double Rye!® Manhattan or Old Fashioned - it’s also absolutely superb for sipping alone or sharing

Mint, clove, cinnamon, licorice root, pine nuts, and dark chocolate, with a surprising dose of gin botanicals throughout. Rye spices up front, then menthol, mint, eucalyptus, herbal tea with wildflower honey and all spice. Cinnamon and mint, gradually sweetening through the finish, with a hint of anise.

The High West Distillery in Park City, Utah prides itself on creating handcrafted, small batch spirits. They are Utah's first distillery since 1870 and the world's only ski-in gastro-saloon. High West Double Rye Whiskey is the combination of two straight rye whiskeys - a bold, peppery two year old with a 95 rye and 5 barley mashbill, and a smooth, refined sixteen year old with a mashbill of only 53 rye and 37 corn. Named a "must-try for rye whiskey aficionados" by John Hansell of Whisky Advocate, High West Double Rye opens strong and spicy, but soon gives way to complex notes of mint, clove, cinnamon, licorice root, pine nuts and dark chocolate. A surprising note of gin botanicals merges with an undercurrent of caramel, vanilla and sweet corn on the finish.

For wine, we recommend storing bottles on their side in a dark, vibration-free environment with good humidity, ideally between 55-60°F. Spirits like whiskey should be stored upright in a cool, dark place (60-70°F) away from direct sunlight to preserve their quality.

Yes. During periods of extreme heat, we can include optional ice packs in our insulated shippers and select an overnight shipping service & a Weather Waiver. Otherwise, it would be unsafe to ship in those conditions. We can also hold your shipment at no charge for up to one year upon request. We flag temps above 72 °F or below 32 °F as extreme.
