The Appellation Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Beaune is a regional AOC that is available in both white and red wines. Red wines are made from the pinot noir and the white wines from chardonnay. This wine-growing area extends parallel to that of the Côte de Beaune. The vineyards of the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune are at average height of 300 to 400 meters (100 to 150 meters higher than the vineyards of the Côte). They extends over steep slopes that offer an optimal orientation. Vineyards of this wine are located in the community of Echevronne on the edge of Pernand-Vergelesses.
This wine has a beautiful intense red color. In the nose there are notes of red fruits, fresh red cherries, then light spice notes and on the palate it is fresh. Clearly dominated by red fruits, the tannins are fine and lively. Manuel and I found this - very interesting wine - delicious and fruity. Enjoy it with grilled, red meat and cheese. A great wine for a modest price.
Domaine Jean Féry is a family estate that dates back to 1922 with the production of red fruits, berries and currants, then the staple of the Hautes Côtes, rather than grapes. The domaine, which has been certified organic since 2011, now covers 33 hectares.
The 2022 Domaine Jean Féry & Fils Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Beaune Blanc 'La Come des Amoureuses' is a fresh, youthful Chardonnay from high-altitude vineyards. It features a vibrant, mineral-driven, and crisp profile, with citrus and white-flower notes.
