Wine Spectator
“Offers excellent balance between its precision, freshness and depth. Perfectly ripe pear and apple notes are flecked with dried herbs and driven by an invigorating beam of acidity for a long, vibrant finish. Saline-brushed mineral elements course alongside the fruit, with chamomile, acacia and smoke chiming in. Complex and regal. Clairette, Grenache Blanc, Bourboulenc and Roussanne. Drink now through 2032. 284 cases imported.”
2024 Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc "La Crau"
A highly acclaimed, classic expression of white Rhône winemaking, widely recognized as one of the benchmark white wines of the appellation. Produced by Frédéric & Daniel Brunier from 40-year-old vines grown on the stony, high-altitude La Crau plateau, it highlights a unique terroir of rounded riverbed stones (galets roulés) and clay. White Châteauneuf-du-Pape is exceptionally rare, representing only about 5% of the region’s total production
- Blend: 40% Clairette, 25% to 30% Grenache Blanc, 15% to 25% Roussanne, and 10% to 15% Bourboulenc.
- Aging: Aged sur lie in a combination of stainless steel/cement tanks, demi-muids, and large 30-hectoliter oak foudres.
Critical Acclaim
Wine Spectator (95 Points): Notes of ripe pear, apple, dried herbs, chamomile, and smoke, all driven by a saline-brushed mineral acidity.
James Suckling (95 Points): Driven, precise, and tactile, showcasing aromas of green apples, sweet lemons, warm herbs, fennel, and almond powder with a beautifully textural mid-palate.
