Puntiagudo Pulquero from Nazario Salas is made with agave that take 12 years to reach maturity in Puebla. Nazario is a 4th generation mezcalero. While maguey Pulquero is typically referring to an Agave atrovirens, for Nazario, maguey Pulquero referes to an Agave mapisaga, an agave that is extremely rare in mezcal production.
The name Puntiagudo refers to the shape of the quiote stalk of wild agaves, and also to the production of distillates with high alcoholic content (puntas). The boar used as a logo summons those who desire and seek something extraordinary in the agave distillates market.
Aromas frequently include green pepper, brine, lime, lactic notes, honey, and pine. The palate reveals common flavors of lime, mineral, salt, and more lactic notes, sometimes with green pepper.
