The story goes that Facuno and his brother Jose purchased a Santiago de Cuba distillery in October 1862 with one copper and cask iron still. Along with the building came the inspiration for the brand's logo - a family of fruit bats. Since that time, the family has grown the brand into the icon it is today, diversifying into numerous labels including Dewar's Scotch, Bombay Sapphire gin, and Grey Goose Vodka.
