May 5th, 2021, 6:30PM ET
Standard Order Cutoff April 26
Join New York Times spirits writer Robert Simonson for a live cocktail experience as he explores the world of agave spirits and his new book, which presents 60+ new recipes to indulge your thirst for tequila and mezcal – taking place Wednesday, May 5th at 6:30pm ET.
Tickets include a copy of Simonson’s new book, Mezcal and Tequila Cocktails: Mixed Drinks for the Golden Age of Agave. This comprehensive, straightforward guide is perfect for enthusiasts looking for creative ways to enjoy agave spirits more often and in more varied ways—or for anyone who just likes to drink the stuff.
Podcast hosts from Heritage Radio Network’s award-winning spirits programs will guide you through the evening, starting with a spirited conversation between Simonson and The Speakeasy’s Sother Teague. The evening will be complete with appearances from the hosts of Agave Road Trip (Lou Bank and Chava Periban) Cooking in Mexican from A to Z (Aaron Sanchez and Zarela Martinez) and cocktail demos from Simonson.
Mix– and sip– along with the demos with the accompanying cocktail kit. Each kit makes three cocktails each for two people, plus extra spirits for tasting neat. Kick off your night with the sophisticated Dados featuring La Luna Mezcal, pre-mixed and ready to pour! Then, you’ll mix up the Siesta and the Camarón Cocktail.
Dados: La Luna mezcal is complemented by the French liquor Suze and a touch of Giffard crème de pamplemousse.
Siesta: This spicy and bitter spin on a Hemingway Daiquiri features blanco tequila, Campari, grapefruit and lime.
Camarón Cocktail: In this interpretation of The Cameron’s Kick, tequila steps in for Irish Whiskey and Sombra Mezcal for equally smoky Scotch.
