Caol Ila 25 Year Old Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Introduced in 2010, after cask strength versions in 2004 and 2005, this is the first officially-bottled Caol Ila 25 Year Old to be bottled at 43% ABV. Well-balanced contemplative old Caol Ila with smoldering charcoal and maritime notes. Matured for a minimum of 25 years in a mixture of American & European oak casks from the region of Islay.

Golden appearance, sweet-spicy, fresh sea-air notes with hints of preserved fruit; adding water brings out polished wood notes. Immediately sweet and fruity with a balancing bitterness. As befits its age, Caol Ila’s trademark smoky-medicinal character is controlled rather than exuberant. Smooth & complex. Long, sweetly drying with more smoke coming through.
