Dr. Hermann Winery, the Riesling-Estate, is managed by the father and son team of Rudi and Christian Hermann. Their philosophy is that quality starts in the vineyard with restrained pruning, hand harvesting, natural and careful cultivation of vineyard soil. The result is beautiful, elegant wines from some of the most famous vineyard sites in the world. The Hermann's specialize in Riesling grown on steep rock slopes of the famous vineyards of the Erdener Prälat, Erdener Treppchen, and the Ürziger Würzgarten. All of their vineyards grow exclusively on old vines, ungrafted Riesling vines which deliver beautiful, complex Riesling wines.

From their own grapes only and from top vineyards in Lösnich and Kinheim but also some parts of the Treppchen and Würzgarten, the off-dry 2022 "H" Riesling was fermented stainless steel and bottled in February. Clear and aromatic on the nose, this is an elegant and refined, persistently saline and crystalline Riesling with lush and round fruit but notable sweetness. A stunning 66,000 bottles were made. 9.5% stated alcohol. Screw-cap closure. Tasted in May 2023.

Depending on the bottle and destination, we use a combination of insulated foam box inserts, custom-fit air column bags, and heavy-weight cardboard shippers to prevent damage. For added peace of mind, we offer shipping protection against loss or damage at checkout through OrderProtection.com.

For wine, we recommend storing bottles on their side in a dark, vibration-free environment with good humidity, ideally between 55-60°F. Spirits like whiskey should be stored upright in a cool, dark place (60-70°F) away from direct sunlight to preserve their quality.
