This wonderful vin de pays produced from grapes grown in the Château’s vineyards does not benefit from the Côtes du Lubéron appellation. Viognier is not considered a traditional grape in this region. However, this wine is a huge crowd pleaser, year in and year out. More high-toned than it’s more famous cousin in the northern Rhône valley, the texture is always bright and crisp with good weight and length, but never heavy. The telltale aromatics of this grape are present with notes of apricot, ripe citrus and some minerals. Very refreshing!
