Ferraton Cornas Les Eygats 2015
From the northern part of the appellation and brought up in 15% new French oak, the 2015 Cornas Lieu Dit Les Eygats gives up more complex notes of campfire and liquid rock, as well as loads of black raspberry, toasted spice and leather. Gorgeously pure, layered and sexy, with perfect balance, it's a blockbuster Cornas that shows how utterly sensational this vintage is. It needs 3-4 years of cellaring but is a profound effort that will keep for two decades. Don’t miss it.

They’re made in tiny quantities and there’s just not enough to go around. For readers who don’t know, this estate is managed by Michel Chapoutier, yet they have their own vineyard sources and winemaking team.

The 2015 Cornas Lieu Dit Les Eygats comes from a terrific vineyard located in the northern portion of the appellation and will see 14 months in 15% new barrels. It has a liqueur of rocks-like minerality and layers of blueberries, currants, peppery herbs, graphite and licorice. Full-bodied, incredibly concentrated and stacked on the palate, with a finish that won’t quit, I just hope it shows this well from the bottle! The quality (and a number of cuvées) from this estate continues to soar, and this is easily the finest lineup up of wines I’ve tasted from this team.

Bright purple. Powerful dark berry and licorice aromas, along with floral and smoky mineral flourishes. Broad and seamless on the palate, offering sweet cassis and blueberry flavors that tighten up slowly on the back half. Smoothly plays richness off energy and finishes very long and sappy, with mounting tannins and a touch of smokiness.

A wine list from Flask published in the early 1970s
Driving down Ventura Blvd in Studio City in the 1960’s has something in common with today, Flask Fine Wine & Whisky- Flask first opened its doors to the public in 1962. Decades later and it still remains a respected fixture in the Los Angeles community.
We work directly with the wineries, distilleries and breweries to maintain a personal relationship with the creators of some of our favorite products.
We want to know their stories and how they produce bottles that fit into our unique collection. We make a point to keep our selection stocked with a wide variety, offering your classic Napa icons to your natural & organic wines.
We like to think of our whiskey and spirit section as more of a library where the rarest of bottles can be found.
We look forward to helping you find your next favorite bottle!
