In a wine that is almost entirely Paso Robles fruit, the 2016 Grenache scales back the raciness and the overtly “in your face” style that Paso is so known for. While still full bodied, she’s also elegant and feminine…think Scarlett Johannsen at a black-tie affair. Soft red fruit, and delicate rose petals on the nose with a mouthfeel that is silky and round. I see myself at a window table at Boulevard with my wife, this wine and Nancy Oakes’ “Rabbit Three Ways” while Paul Simon’s Graceland plays in the background.
