2013 Hartford Syrah Outer Limits Vineyard
Hartford Family Winery is a wine producer located in the Russian River Valley of Sonoma County established in 1994 by Jenny and Don Hartford. It works with growers from a wide number of AVAs and has gained a reputation as one of Sonoma's premier producers for top quality Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Zinfandel.
Our Outer Limits Vineyard Syrah comes from an estate vineyard site, located on a windswept ridge area near Annapolis.
The vineyard, which also is the source of our Far Coast Chardonnay and Pinot Noir bottlings, is a very cool site surrounded
by redwood forests, over an hour north of the Russian River. This Sonoma Coast mountain ridge is four miles from the
Pacific Ocean at 900 foot elevation. The soils are the Goldridge series on top of older volcanic bedrock, which drives a
balance between fruit, complexity and structure

From a coastal site overlooking the Pacific Ocean near Annapolis, this is cool-climate yet brawny in its grasp of cherry cola, black pepper and black licorice, that is wild and densely packed with power. Wild blackberry and blueberry come along for the ride, adding to the succulence of the midpalate, a nice contrast to the underlying gaminess and tobacco.

All shipments require an adult signature on delivery. Please make sure an adult 21 or older will be available to sign for your package. We recommend shipping to a business address when possible.
