A 1982 vintage Macallan carefully selected to reflect the high quality of their sherry matured whisky from that year and then bottled in 2002.

A legendary and highly coveted release, the Macallan Gran Reserva 1982 is widely regarded by enthusiasts as one of the finest examples of Macallan's celebrated Gran Reserva series.. 
Exclusively in first-fill Oloroso sherry casks from Jerez, Spain, this expression is celebrated for its profound depth, richness, and intensely complex character. Its status as a top-tier collectible is solidified by its presentation as a complete set, including the original box and accompanying booklet.

Tasting Notes

Thick, oily, rich, not weak at all despite the 40%, and more of a classic now. Heavy notes of rum-soaked raisins, figs, old rancio (huge!) and orange and herbs liqueur (like that famous Dantziger Goldwasser). Gets then spicier, mainly on cloves and pepper, with very funny hints of mescal as well. Excellent, really.

Starts on heady notes of mulled wine, cloves, big juniper berries, spearmint and coffee toffee and gets then more classically sherried, with the dark chocolate upfront and then notes of soy sauce, balsamico and barbecued beef.

Long, coating, rich but clean and pure, with a faint saltiness as the signature and an aftertaste on blackberry jelly.

Depending on the bottle and destination, we use a combination of insulated foam box inserts, custom-fit air column bags, and heavy-weight cardboard shippers to prevent damage. For wine, we recommend storing bottles on their side in a dark, vibration-free environment with good humidity, ideally between 55-60°F. Spirits like whiskey should be stored upright in a cool, dark place (60-70°F) away from direct sunlight to preserve their quality.
