Coche-Dury Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2022
Imported by Kermit Lynch
Coche-Dury is a highly regarded producer based in Meursault, Burgundy. While they make some red wines from Pinot Noir, the house is famous for its highly collectible white wines made from Chardonnay. In fact, Coche-Dury's Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru wine is consistently ranked among the top 100 most expensive wines available on Wine-Searcher.
The Domaine was founded in 1973, following the marriage of Jean-François Coche and Odile Dury, although the Coche family has been making wine in Meursault for several generations. Now, as well as holdings in Meursault, the family have vineyards in Puligny-Montrachet, Auxey-Duresses, Monthelie, Volnay and in the Corton Grand Cru vineyard.
Covering (mainly) Pinot Noir from north to south Burgundy – and even into the Beaujolais – Bourgogne Rouge is the most basic red wine from across the Burgundy region. Bourgogne Rouge wines are the still, dry red wines produced under the generic Bourgogne appellation. Created in 1937, this covers Burgundy wines made from vineyards without a more location-specific title. Bourgogne Rouge wine can be produced from grapes grown in any one (or more) of 300 communes throughout Burgundy.
