A.F. Gros Gevrey Chambertin 2023
This is Pinot Noir that walks the line between plush and precise. The nose is all bright red berries — cherry, strawberry, rose — with a crackle of white pepper and a smoky undertow. On the palate, things stretch out: generous fruit, fine tannins, and a little Gevrey grit keeping it all focused. There’s serious structure under the fruit, thanks to the limestone-and-sand soils of La Justice, but it finishes with a spring in its step. Think silk glove, firm handshake.
2023’s entire cuvée comes from La Justice, a well-drained site on the lower slopes of Gevrey-Chambertin, just below the village. A layer of limestone above sand brings freshness, clarity and lift. Sourced from a trusted long-term grower, this parcel gives a purer, more aromatic take on Gevrey — less musclebound, more mid-weight finesse.
Sourced from a long-term grower partnership. Around 50% whole bunches were used during fermentation to lift the aromatics and enhance structure. Élevage took place in a 50/50 split of ceramic and oak barrels, with no more than 20% new oak. Ceramic’s neutral character keeps the spice and savoury fruit in sharp focus — a clean, finely structured wine with Gevrey’s signature grip and poise.
A.F. Gros is where two great Burgundy families, Gros and Parent come together.
Now led by siblings Caroline and Mathias Parent, this next-gen duo brings fresh energy to a legacy of precision.
From Bourgogne to Richebourg, every wine gets the same care: whole bunch ferments, ceramic ageing, and a quiet radicalism behind the classic style.
