Ichiro's Malt is a Japanese whisky operation founded by Ichiro Akuto at the Chichibu Distillery in Saitama Prefecture, producing single malt and blended grain expressions from a small-batch, craft-focused facility. Akuto also rescued surviving casks from the now-closed Hanyu Distillery, his family's former operation, including the rare Hanyu 1988 Big Butt Cask #9306. Chichibu distillate is matured in a range of wood types, with expressions like the Chichibu Port Pipe 2009 finished in port pipe casks and the Chichibu On The Way 2013 representing early releases from the young distillery.
