Waves of pear and apple rise as maritime smoke lingers on the tide. Blades of seaweed, pepper, and spice build a rocky, salty-spicy, powerhouse of a malt into a lengthy finish with plenty of Talisker spiciness.
This is a rugged, young Talisker bottled at cask strength by Diageo for the Special Releases 2024. Aged in casks for eight years, the barrel’s original layers of char were polished away by rocks and water, then lightly re-toasted. The result is a Talisker with hallmark notes of maritime peat, poached pears, and crunchy green apples, giving way to seaweed, and cracked black pepper.
