Distilled in 1966 at Stitzel-Weller distillery, when it was still under the ownership of the Van Winkle family. The legendary 'Pappy' had died the year before, having handed the reigns to his son, Julian II, in 1964. It was bottled in 1973 by new Stizel-Weller owners Somset Imports, to whom Julian had been forced to sell the distillery the year before. These Van Winkle-distilled Stitzel-Weller bourbons are true collector's pieces.
