This release was nicknamed the 'Double-Dark' by members of the PLOWED Society. The understanding is that these releases were produced by diluting the strength of the regular 12 year old by using under-proof casks of 30-36 year old whisky from the legendary 1960s vintages, giving the whisky its dark color.

Depending on the bottle and destination, we use a combination of insulated foam box inserts, custom-fit air column bags, and heavy-weight cardboard shippers to prevent damage. For wine, we recommend storing bottles on their side in a dark, vibration-free environment with good humidity, ideally between 55-60°F. Spirits like whiskey should be stored upright in a cool, dark place (60-70°F) away from direct sunlight to preserve their quality.
