Amalfi Coast Limoncello is an origin-protected IGP product (Indicazione Geografica Protetta) like Balsamico di Modena. Yes, this stuff is sweet, but also acidic. It's a lemonade stand for grown-ups, and there is nothing better than one for ending dinner of Southern Italian-style seafood and pasta. The sheer concentration of naturally extracted lemon oil in this fine example is astounding... the amount of which must meet or exceed standards for its protected origin. Try keeping your bottle in the freezer and pour it over a single ice cube to get the full impact, and continue to enjoy it as it melts the ice. Quite unmatched as an after-dinner palate scrub, this is perhaps the only thing that passes the ultimate test for palate cleanses--copious amounts of garlic.
