Description

Pierre Yves Colin Morey Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru 2017

Maison Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey is a Burgundy producer based in Chassagne-Montrachet, in the Côte de Beaune subregion. It is known for its fine Chardonnay wines and has most of its vineyard holdings in Saint-Aubin. The estate was established in 2005 by husband-and-wife team Pierre-Yves Colin and Catherine Morey, both children of esteemed Burgundy winemakers.

Colin had been the winemaker at his family's winery since 1995 and in 2001 started a négociant business with his wife. In 2005, he left the family estate to establish his own label with his six-hectare (15-acre) share – the rest of the Colin vineyards remained with his three siblings (Caroline, Joseph and Damien, who run Domaine Marc Colin).

Critical Acclaim

97 Wine Spectator

A live wire of a white, with a racy, resonant structure that sets the stage for high-impact flavors of peach, apple pie, vanilla and toast. Comes together midpalate before fanning out on the long, expansive finish. Best from 2021 through 2030. 25 cases imported.

95 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

The 2017 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru is showing especially well. As usual, it's a blend of fruit from Aloxe and Pernand, but Colin told me that he is now sourcing an additional parcel from Pernand, so the blend has changed. He also added that he is picking a touch later, seeking greater plenitude. The result is a very successful wine that unfurls in the glass with a classy bouquet of citrus oil, subtle spices, crisp green apple, nutmeg and beeswax. On the palate, it's full-bodied, deep and layered, with excellent concentration, racy acids and a chalky, phenolic finish. This might be Pierre-Yves Colin's finest Corton-Charlemagne to date.

Driving down Ventura Blvd in Studio City in the 1960’s has something in common with today, Flask Fine Wine & Whisky- Flask first opened its doors to the public in 1962. Decades later and it still remains a respected fixture in the Los Angeles community.

We work directly with the wineries, distilleries and breweries to maintain a personal relationship with the creators of some of our favorite products.

We want to know their stories and how they produce bottles that fit into our unique collection. We make a point to keep our selection stocked with a wide variety, offering your classic Napa icons to your natural & organic wines.

We like to think of our whiskey and spirit section as more of a library where the rarest of bottles can be found.

We look forward to helping you find your next favorite bottle!
